Teaching steps:

 Step One: Lead-in

Let’s have a talk. Do you have any hobbies? What’s your hobby? Do you like music? What kind of music do you like best? Today I will introduce some styles of music to you.

 Step Two: Listening

Students listen to the tape and try to answer the following questions:

• Are there many styles of music in the world?
• When you listen to a song, do you listen to the words or the music?

  Step Three: Reading

Students read the passage and answer some questions.
